  • To promote emergency preparedness in all regions. 
  • To enhance SCEPA’s role as an educator.


  • To provide emergency preparedness educational materials through the establishment of a library containing books, tapes, manuals, internet resources, etc. that would be loaned to SCEPA members. 
  • To maintain the library with current materials and those having educational value on general emergency preparedness, emergency preparedness as it relates to special care facilities and special topics in emergency preparedness.



The library has been approved by the Provincial SCEPA committee June 2003 .


 Policies and Procedures:

The Provincial Committee will establish polices and procedures concerning the operation of the library. Each year the Provincial Committee will consider what new resources will be added. Currently the library will be housed with the secretary or other members until a permanent home is found.


How to get an item from the Library:



All library items are currently being held at the Halifax Regional Municipality Emergency Measures Offices.  If you see an item that you would like to borrow please contact:
